importance related to Security risks from fraudulent emails.
What is Phishing?
It is an online identity theft scam.
Typically, criminals send emails that look like they're from
legitimate sources, but are not. The fake messages
generally include a link to spoofed websites, where
victims are asked to provide sensitive personal information.
The information goes to criminals, rather than the
legitimate business.
In order to avoid risking the security of your financial
matters, please make sure to follow the below guidelines
step by step:
1- Be advised that SHB
will not request you to provide sensitive or financial
information by e-mails, SMS or by phone; therefore we
profoundly advise you not to reply to such emails, calls or
to click any embedded weblinks. The only electronic
communication way with Saudi Hollandi Bank is the internal
email through SHB Online.
2- When providing sensitive information, please ensure that
security lock located in the bottom
right corner of your web browser is present
and the security certificate is registered for Saudi
Hollandi Bank under the name of ((ebank.shbonline.com))
3- Be careful when accessing your accounts from public
places such as internet cafes or such. To avoid capturing your transaction password when performing
transfers or so, limit your use of SHB Online to inquiry
only.
4- If you have responded to one of the emails
by giving personal information, please contact Phone Link
as soon as possible at 8001243000. This may
appear to come from a trusted business or friend, but
actually are designed to trick you into downloading a virus
or prompting you to access a fraudulent website and then
disclose for them sensitive information.
5- The best policy is to never give out any personal
or proprietary information over the telephone or the
Internet, Then by Calling Phone Link (8001243000) to
ensure & report such e-mails or phone calls.
6- We advise you to type the
online URL (
www.shbonline.com ), do not
use links provided by other site every time you want to
use the online banking.
7- It is recommended to use the (log out) option why
you complete your banking browsing.
8- For your protection change your password(s) regularly and
when a compromise of the password is suspected.
9- Use Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 7 or latest , as
it has many security features.
10- Saudi Hollandi Bank is NOT liable for any loss
arising from your sharing of your User Ids, passwords,
cards, card numbers or PINs with anyone, NOR from their
consequent unauthorized use.
11- Prior to performing a transaction through an ATM always
check the machine and the surrounding area carefully to make
sure that:
